Well our 2008 Season is nearing.  If the weather cooperates we will begin practices this week!  If you're surfing the net, check out my additions to the TRACK UPGRADES page.  It's an electronic scrapbook dating back to 1999.  Another milestone is upon us as we've nearly hit the 1000th hit on the NEW website!  Thanks to all who helped us get the 2008 season rolling and those willing to help this racing season.   Also, check out the new Maryland BMX site at www.mdbmx.org

As a reminder, we'll be at the track today from 12-4 doing some maintenance and such for this weeks Opening practice!  If you are willing and able, come out and lend a hand. :)

Maryland BMX Jersey Day

 

OK racers, its time to show your pride in our sport and tell your friends about it. On FRIDAY, MARCH 28 and FRIDAY, APRIL 11th wear your BMX JERSEY to school (it can be your Maryland State, bike team, or whatever jersey you wear to race in).  Doesn't matter how old you are – preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, college, graduate school, post graduate, trade school, or school of hard knocks. When people ask you about your jersey, tell them all about how cool BMX is and how they could get into it too!!

 Now the coolest part… Have someone take your picture at school IN YOUR JERSEY – it can be anywhere at school: on the bus, in front of the school, at your locker, in the hall, in the gym, wherever… Be as creative as you want to be. Just don't get into trouble, and make sure the picture is big enough to see!

• your name
• age
• home track
• and a description of where the photo was taken

 

All photos submitted will be displayed on the official website of Hagerstown and Riverside BMX and the photo chosen as the coolest, will win a few small prizes!!

 

Have your mom clean your jersey – or better yet, clean it yourself - and wear it to school on FRIDAY, MARCH 28 and FRIDAY, APRIL 11th. Send in your pictures (best resolution possible) by APRIL 18th, 2008 to be included in the contest!

We had a pretty successful work weekend.  The weather cooperated and we were able to get some stuff done.  We had a handful of people each day but everyone put some time to get things accomplished.  The track is in the best shape it's ever been this early, a new fence was installed on the top of the starting hill (much needed), new shelving in the sheds, roof and ceiling repairs, and weatherproofing.  Our next work weekend is planned for March 29/30th.  We'll still have more to do so if you can help out, plan on attending.  Thanks to all who helped! Ryan Hullinger is heading down to Orlando for a race on March 22-23. Wish him and Diane luck and have fun basking in the sun!  We'll be here in MD trying to push winter outta the way!

We will have two scheduled "work weekends" in March.  March 15 and 16th  as well as March 29 and 30th noon-4pm each of those days.    If you are willing and able to help out any of these days please stop buy. (hint- bring gloves and clothes to get dirty)

I will post more specific information for each weekend as the time gets closer.  Looks like winter is not ready to leave.   :/
