Work Session for '09 Track Prep

We will be having a work session this weekend, April 4/5th to recover the track and do some other maintenance around the track.  We're asking for any volunteer help willing to lend a hand to help out.  Mike Hartlove will be bringing a skid loader and we have plenty of dirt to work with.  We will need plenty of hand work and maybe some extra four wheelers or trucks to help pack the track down.

work times:

Sat 9am-4pm

Sun TBA- as needed

See you there.

Thanks to the Howell Family for their generous donation to HBMX.  We were able to purchase enough dirt to restore our track to its former glory as well as upgrade some sections...stay tuned for upcoming weekend work sessions (weather pending)

Local racer Elissa "Baby" Jordan recently qualified for the World Championships that will be held in Australia later this year, way to go Elissa!

We'll be announcing an opening date for practices at the track.  Hopefully the first week of April if all goes well.

The MD State board will holding a meeting this Sunday March 29 at 2pm at Park-N-Dine Restaurant in Hancock MD, anyone is welcome to attend.

Please email us if you have questions or comments about HBMX...

Joe Jefferson has some exciting sponsorship programs and ideas for 2009, check out the AVC website or contact Joe for further details  <click here>

The INTENSE BMX bike raffle was organized.  The bike will be raffled off at the State Championship race on Oct 4.  Tickets will be sold from now until then, including free tickets to those who help obtain track/trophy sponsorships!  More details later.

Many new ideas and friendly racers are ready to get things rollin!

Stay tuned for more updates and schedules for upcoming practice nights, we're hoping to have practices within two weeks.

March Madness

We have scheduled a 2009 Organizational meeting for HBMX.  It will be held on Wed March 18 at the Police Athletic League building (near the Cannon Ave. entrance to the Fairground)at 7 pm.  Feel free to join us and offer your ideas and support to help keep HBMX as successful as years past.

This years schedule is posted along with the MD State Points Series Schedule.  This year's State Series requirements have changed.  Riders will only have to compete in 2 qualifiers and 2 locals to qualify for the MD Series and Championship.  Hopefully this will encourage better attendance at our MD qualifiers AND the 2009 Presidents Cup!

Click the link above to preview the Antietam Velo Club jerseys for 2009.  Those jerseys will be available as a pre-order only.  If you're interested in one , please contact Joe Jefferson <click here>
