Rainy Friday
Due to the rain practice for this evening has been cancelled.
Unfortunately Winchester BMX has cancelled their
Saturday evening races :(

Hap Hap Happenings
Well, The weekend ended up goin off without a hitch. The VW/Bike show was a success raising over $500 for HBMX as
well as wowing the crowd with the high flying antics of Team Slacker, (Joey, Ryan, Johnson, Afro Tony, Evan, and Alan)

Then Sunday our final MD State Qualifier for 2009 finished up on Sunday afternoon with a 7 moto local race following.
Quite a full weekend.
We will be finalizing details and getting extra jerseys/plaques ordered for those who qualified
for the Maryland State Series.
Coming up Sept 13 (after the Bob Warnicke race) is our Annual Family picnic.
We invite all the families to join us for a relaxed, family oriented picnic at the park. The picnic is held at the North
Pavillion (just below the BMX track) and we ask that you sign up ahead of time and let us know what you can bring. HBMX
will supply the main course and drinks...Should be a great time!
Also the Intense Bicycle Raffle tickets are going
strong. Stop by the Registration booth at a practice or race and get yourself a few chances on it. Drawing will
be held on Oct 4 (MD State Finals) at HBMX.
One last update. Due to a scheduling conflict with Woodward.
We've cancelled the Sept 27th race and added double headers on Sept 20th, and Oct 11th!

BIG Weekend
A big weekend all around coming up. We have our VW/Bicycle Show/Open house on Saturday at HBMX. Riverside BMX
is hosting their last MD State Qualifier also on Saturday (12-1:15 reg, 2pm race) and last but not least HBMX will be holding
the sixth and final qualifier for the 2009 season on Sunday Aug 23.
We will be holding a local race following
the State race so riders have a chance to get an extra local or an opportunity to fullfill their required races for the State
Series.

Here's what's on the horizon
This weekend is our annual Brandon Shrader Memorial Race. The trophies are a special tribute to Brandon. Hopefully
we'll have a great turn out like last weekends State Qualifier.
On August 19th we will hold our annual back to school
pizza party at practice on Wed evening. Free pizza while it lasts. PLEASE be patient, use manners and say thanks
to those who help out every night at HBMX...It willprobably be busy.
Then, August 22 will be the second annual Simple
Transport VW/Bike show/Open House at HBMX. Car/Bike show begin at 8am...Open track from 11am-2pm....plenty to see and
do. We ask that you respect the cars and bicycles on display by not riding you BMX bikes through the show area.
FREESTYLE show featuring Team Slacker at Noon. The whole day will be off the hook!
Then, on Sunday August 23rd
we will hold our last of the 2009 State Qualifier races at HBMX. What a week!? I may just set up a camp site at
the park. We'll see you there.
