Meet The Staff

Brian Caron
President & Track Director

Brian has been involved with Hagerstown BMX since it's humble beginnings over 10 years ago.  He has been involved with bikes in some shape or form almost all of his life.  He's one of several announcers you may hear at the track giving kids nicknames and calling the races.  You may also catch him ON the track as well, racing 30-39 Expert class.  When he's not racing, he's probably working on an old bike of some sort or one of his VW buses.

Diane.jpgDiane Fulk
Lifetime Track Volunteer

Diane has put her heart and soul into HBMX for the past 8 years.  She IS the personality of our track as our Public Relations Coordinator, Event Organizer, Sponsor seeker, and is in charge of our FREE practice sessions through the week.  Her son Ryan Hullinger has progressed through the ranks at HBMX and has hopes of being a pro someday.  Diane is already a pro!

bevandjamie.JPGBev Wastler and Jamie Harner

Miss Beberly has gone from a sideline parent to an integral part of the operation of HBMX as scorer, secretary, treasurer and all around great volunteer.
Jamie is not only a racing mom of two kids, she's a racer's wife as well as our longest running "hot mom" award winner! She stepped up to become our 50-50 raffle ticket seller a few years back and now handles all aspects or running a race!
Just two more friendly faces at HBMX!

martywastler.jpgMarty Wastler
Staff photographer

Marty and Bev started out just coming to the track to watch their son try BMX racing...they swore they weren't going to "get involved" with a sports organization, but we reeled them in, hook line and sinker.  Marty has honed his photography skills and submits several hundred pics per race.  Thanks Marty!

sherman2.jpgSherman Lynn
Track Prep/Maintenance

Sherman has been helping out with HBMX for 5 years or so.  Sherman has handled so many chores around the track it's hard to pick out just one.  He also heads up our Parade Float Committee where he organizes and builds a 48' float for the kids (and adults) to showcase the best in BMX atop the HBMX float!   He's a proud racing dad of Cody Lynn who is now a 12 Expert.

There are so many more people that help keep Hagerstown BMX the best experience you and your family can have.  Ken Minnick, Steve Polis, John Price, Jamie and Tammy Drawbaugh, Phil Smithhisler, Doug Widdows, Mike Hartlove, Joe Jefferson as well as all racing families who bring their kids to all of the races, without you there wouldn't be Hagerstown BMX!

What HBMX is all about

Hagerstown BMX was founded and is currently run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are enthusiastic about BMX and all that it stands for.  The target audience for BMX is children, although some of those "children" race well into their 40's!  Cruise through this site or stop by the track and I'm sure you'll see what we're all about!

Our Goals
  • To provide a facility to the public where kids of all ages can come and enjoy the sport of BMX.

  • Encourage kids to do their best.

  • Respect and earn the respect of others through friendly competition.

The roots of BMX extend back into the 1970's, and has made it's way to an Olympic sport for 2008.  It all starts at the local tracks with local racers. BMX racing is what you make out of it whether it's racing at a local, State or National level!  It all FUN!
